Northern Arizona Food Bank encourages Flagstaff’s business community and other organizations to respond to a serious problem that effects thousands of Arizonans: Hunger.

Here’s how….

Flagstaff area businesses and organizations are challenged to hold a food drive with their employees this summer. You decide how you’d like to help: Food Donations , Monetary Donations or Volunteers..

The top performer in each of the three categories (1-10 employees, 11-25 and 25+) will receive:

~	Their organization’s logo prominently displayed for one year on our new semi trailer, which travels the country gathering food and responding to humanitarian needs;

~	Free advertisement banners on our Web site;

~	A listing in our newsletter as a top performer in the food drive.

Why participate?
Summer is a time when the food bank’s shelves do not see as many food donations. Therefore, it’s a critical time for our business community to become involved and remember the people in Northern Arizona who are hungry on a daily basis throughout summer months. We would be grateful for your help — and so would those who need it.

The value of your gifts
Each participating business or organization will be tracked with the following formula to determine the winner.

Each volunteer hour = $17.85

A pound of donated food = $1.50

Monetary donations = amount given

Creative food drive ideas:

* Have a contest for the team that donates the most food.

* Select a theme that goes along with what you want to collect (i.e. Mexican food). Have a party after the food drive that coordinates with your theme.

* Organize theme days like “Macaroni Monday” or “Tuna Tuesday” to encourage folks to bring specific items on certain days.
